Do you look forward to this time of year as much as I do? Sure, the vacations and family memories are the most wonderful part of summer, but I am always thrilled by the bounty of fruit available this time of year. Here in the midwest, the blueberry bushes are bursting, peaches on the trees are getting rosy and heavy, and raspberry season is going strong. The fruit is just calling out to me and the RBP crew is busy cooking up classic favorites and testing new flavors to develop.
This week we have been concentrating on restocking our curds. They have been selling like crazy! Feature them in a summer dessert of sponge cake, curd, fresh berries or stone fruit and fresh whipped cream.
Enjoy this bounty. Go pick some fruit at nearby farms, visit your local farmer’s market, ask your CSA for more berries. And be sure to visit frequently for updates on new flavors and what’s cooking in the Rare Bird kitchen.
